Ranjit Gupta – CEO
Ranjit Gupta is the CEO of Ostro Energy and responsible for all day to day operations of the business. Ranjit set up Ostro Energy, backed by investment from Actis, in July 2014. Prior to Ostro, Ranjit co-founded Orange Powergen, a leading Renewable Energy company, with operating Wind & Biomass power projects, in 2012. As the founding CEO of Indiabulls Power in 2007, Ranjit set up the company and lead construction of over 5000 MW of Thermal Power projects. Ranjit worked with Schlumberger, an Oilfield Services behemoth, for 12 years, across various geographies, starting as a Field Engineer in Japan, culminating as Country Manager of Indonesia for Drilling & Measurements division.
Ranjit holds a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology – Mumbai.
Murali Subramanian – COO
Murali is the COO of Ostro Energy and responsible for all day to day operations of the company. Murali has 20+ years of experience working across power and energy sector in India & abroad. Murali started his career with Schlumberger working across Egypt, India & North Africa. Murali returned to India in 2002 post his MBA and 2+ years consulting stint at LEK consulting and worked in renewable energy sector. He joined Lanco Infratech in 2005 and was instrumental in growing the hydro division to 800 MW. He joined Indiabulls Power as COO and was instrumental in construction of over 5,000 MW of Thermal Power Projects. Murali along with Ranjit co founded Orange Powergen with operating Wind and Biomass projects.
Murali holds Bachelor of Technology from IIT Mumbai and MBA from INSEAD.
Rajat Gupta – CFO
Rajat Gupta is the CFO of Ostro Energy and responsible for all finance and controls of the business. Rajat has 21+ years of experience in corporate & business strategy, project and corporate finance, treasury management, mergers and acquisitions. He has worked across infrastructure sector including power (thermal & renewable energy), telecom services, real estate, healthcare and manufacturing sector. He started his career from EY and worked in Shyam Telecom and United Group. Rajat worked as CFO of Avantha Power and instrumental in securing project funding for power projects and spearheaded proposed IPO process of the company. Rajat worked as CFO of Welspun Energy and setup entire finance process and raising of funds for solar projects. He has a bachelors’ degree in commerce from SRCC, University of Delhi and is a member of ICAI.
